The Rashtriya Military Schools (RMS) have released the admission notification for Class 6 and Class 9 for the academic session 2026–27. These schools are fully residential and are affiliated with the CBSE board. They are run under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

Admissions are open for both boys and girls across the country. At present, there are five Rashtriya Military Schools in India located at Chail (Himachal Pradesh), Ajmer (Rajasthan), Belgaum (Karnataka), Bengaluru (Karnataka), and Dholpur (Rajasthan).

Rashtriya Military School Admission Selection Process

1. Common Entrance Test (CET) – All candidates must appear in the entrance exam.
2. Interview – Students who qualify in the merit list will be called for the interview at RMS.
3. Medical Test – Selected candidates will undergo a medical examination at Military Hospitals. Only medically fit students will be granted admission.

Rashtriya Military School Admission 2026–27: Age Limit

• Class 6: Candidate’s age must be between 10 to 12 years as on 31 March 2026. (Date of birth should be between 01 April 2014 to 31 March 2016).
• Class 9: Candidate’s age must be between 13 to 15 years as on 31 March 2026. (Date of birth should be between 01 April 2011 to 31 March 2013).

• Class 6: Must have passed Class 5 or currently studying in Class 5 from a recognized school.
• Class 9: Must have passed Class 8 or currently studying in Class 8 from a recognized school.
